Vegan Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
Vegan Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookies are my favorite dessert and snack. They are one of the first deserts I found when I became Vegan. I have tweaked this recipe over time to come up with my current version. I found that adding cinnamon masks the sweeter taste that the unsweetened applesauce adds. The main ingredients are oats and applesauce. The recipe also contain oat flour, maple syrup, baking soda, cinnamon, and vegan chocolate chips.
Gary and I love to have dessert every night and I find that this recipe is so easy to make. I know I always have enough energy to make these delicious cookies, especially after a long day. I like to take them with me when I am out during the day, as a snack for an energy boost. They are both sweet and very filling. My grandkids love to eat them so I bake them every time they come to visit.
Get the Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 2 Tbsp. maple syrup
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup oat flour (Optionally: 14/ oat flour and 1/4 cup whole wheat flour)
- 3/4 cup old fashioned oats
- 1/4 cup vegan chocolate chips
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
Cooking the Vegan Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies:
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Mix unsweetened applesauce, maple syrup, and vanilla extract together. Next, add oat flour, old fashioned oats, cinnamon, and baking soda and mix well. Fold in the chocolate chips. Drop a tablespoon full of batter, spreading them evenly onto a nonstick cooking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes. As soon as you take the cookies out of the oven, take them off cookie sheet. They tend to stick to the cookie sheet the longer they cool.

Instructions

- Next add oat flour, old fashioned oats, cinnamon, and baking soda. Mix well.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
